DM chat and message disappearing, then reappearing later. #257

Describe the bug

I observed something which made me worry if it could also lead to data corruption.

I did the following and the following happened:

  • I did login to a room server that freshly appeared in my contacts list.
  • I did read that there were messages.
  • I did post 3 messages on my own.
  • Then the "server console" got empty, and the room server chat in the DMs view was completely gone (not empty, but not existing anymore). In the contacts list, the room server was still there.
  • Then I did some other things, and opened a DM with a user. I saw a lot of messages by myself (which I actually have written).
  • I opened the detail of one message, scrolled a bit, and then, a message which was received by the other user but not shown before magically "appeared" in the chat list between the messages sent by myself.
  • At this point, the chat with that room server also re-appeared in the DMs view, with 2 of the 3 messages I sent, and when I logged in to the room server the console also showed a few messages again.
