Tiles should be downloaded into the currently selected Tiles Folder.
Example:
If the user sets the provider URL to BgMountains and the Tiles Folder to /BgMountain, the downloaded tiles should be stored there instead of always using /tiles.
Behavior:
Default OpenStreetMap tiles remain in /tiles.
Custom providers use their own folders.
This separation allows multiple tile providers (OpenStreetMap, topo maps, custom providers) to coexist without overwriting each other. Switching providers does not interfere with previously downloaded tiles.
Management → Radio
Add a region preset dropdown, similar to the original mobile app:
Examples: Europe (Narrow), US, etc.
Map
Zoom Level Display: Show the zoom level as part of the map layout information.
GPS Info Toolbar:
Display small GPS data like altitude, zoom level, speed, and other details.
Alternatively, when the user selects their current location (GPS dot), show detailed GPS information.
Control Map navigation with keyboad (W for up, A for left, S for down, D for right, O for Zoom In, I for Zoom Out)
UI Improvements
Button Selection Highlight: Add white borders to bottom buttons when selected (e.g., a blue button with a white border).
UI Color Customization: Allow users to change the default blue color to a custom RGB hex value (e.g., #ff0000). Optional but nice for personalization.
Row Text Alignment: Ensure text in all rows is vertically centered; current misalignment may be due to the graphics library or font.
Screen Scaling Options: Instead of percentage-based scaling, consider three fixed options: Small, Regular, Big.
This simplifies implementation by requiring only predefined font sizes for each choice.
Chat:
Some bot channels send text with line breaks. If the text contains a new line, it should be displayed on a new line.
Lock Keyboard & Device
Screen & Keyboard Lock: Auto-lock after a few seconds of inactivity, similar to old GSM phones.
Lock Screen Display: When a key is pressed while locked, show:
Current time
Small status message
Unlock instructions (e.g., “Hold ALT + L,” “ALT + Space,” “Hold ALT for 2 seconds to unlock”)
Manual Lock Shortcut: Provide a keyboard shortcut for manual locking, useful when carrying the device in a pocket.
Management → Date / Time
Manual Time Offset Support
Support manual time zone offsets (e.g., +1, +2).
Offset works independently of NTP, allowing correct local time without NTP.
NTP Time Zone Selection
Replace free-text input with a dropdown of predefined time zones.
Easier and less error-prone than manual entries.
Additional Notes / Observations
Date & Time Behavior:
Without NTP and GPS, sent messages sometimes show future dates.
The device could use the timestamp from the last received packet to sync time indirectly.
Useful since there is no RTC. If current time differs significantly from the last packet timestamp, the device can adjust before sending the next message.
Works alongside manual time offset (e.g., UTC+2) to maintain correct local time.
Management (General)
CLI Help / Usage:
Display help, usage, or available commands in the CLI by default.
Currently, the CLI is empty, making it hard to know which commands are available.
Keyboard Input Localizations
Support different keyboard layouts:
English QWERTY (default)
German
Bulgarian (of course! 😂)
Others
Trackpad
Improve trackpad support - currently, the trackpad is unusable. Implementing debouncing for the controls might help.
SD Card
Store message history on the SD Card.
Export all configuration to the SD Card as a backup.
Import all configuration from the SD Card.

### Network Tiles URL & Custom Download Folder
- Allow the user to set a **custom map tiles URL**.
- Tiles should be downloaded into the **currently selected Tiles Folder**.

@dobrishinov would it be OK to split these requests into separate issues? That makes it easier to track the feedback of @dabeani and potentially the progress.

I created this list to have all the items from my latest tests in one place. I suggested to @dabeani to keep it like this so I can edit it and use it as a WIP note for these points. Later, after one or two upcoming versions, I might separate each item into individual issues.
I’ll be crowding the GitHub issues list 😅
