First tone of "New DM" sound sometimes played even when no new message has arrived. #320

Describe the bug

I have the following settings in Mgmt → Sound:

  • All Sounds: Enabled,
  • When Connected: Enabled (what does this mean?),
  • Volume: Low,
  • Boot Sound: Enabled,
  • New DM: Enabled (should this also play on a new room message?),
  • New channel: Disabled,
  • Ack: Enabled.

I observe that sometimes the first tone of the "New DM" sound is played although I have not received any new DM (nor any new room message nor any new channel message): No "new message" symbol. It only started after I did set Mgmt → Sound → New DM to Enabled.

Which device are you using

LilyGO T-Deck Plus

Which Firmware are you using

v0.9.12.3

Same here. I have not adjusted any settings and I got the sound twice today about 5 seconds apart.

Fixed (v0.9.13)

  • Sound #320 (T-Deck Plus): Fixed false "New DM" alerts by stopping DM tone/haptic on contact-discovery adverts, and removed duplicate channel-message notify calls that could trigger repeated sounds.
