Cannot create or save _any_ WiFi settings. (No SSID, no Profile, no password.) #312

Describe the bug

After a full internal flash wipe and reinstallation (SD card not wiped to keep my settings), I cannot do anything anymore with WiFi in client mode:

In Mgmt → WiFi:

  • No profiles are there.
  • If I Add a new profile, it does not appear in the list of profiles,
  • if I enter an SSID, it stays as (not set),
  • if I enter a Password, it stays as (not set).

When I tap the WiFi icon in the status line I get a status text saying WiFi switch fa... (at time of testing that specific thing, I had BLE active).

After a reboot, WiFi settings are changed to Mode: Access Pt; AP SSID: <my username>, and I can activate that. But I cannot set nor activate WiFi in Mode: Station.

Which device are you using

LilyGO T-Deck Plus

Which Firmware are you using

v0.9.12.3

Further remarks

  • In M5Launcher, WiFi works for me.
  • Is #254 related?
    But BLE works for me.

Fixed (v0.9.13)

  • WiFi #312: Fixed a profile-store failure mode after wipe/reinstall where WiFi profile writes could target an unreadable/corrupt profiles file and appear to save nothing. Profile append now validates storage and auto-rebuilds invalid profile files before writing.
