https://wiki.znc.in/FAQ#How_can_I_access_webadmin_with_my_browser.3F refers to port 6667
With browsers such as Firefox 74.0:

> # This address is restricted
>
> This address uses a network port which is normally used for purposes other than Web browsing. Firefox has cancelled the request for your protection.

znc --makeconf explicitly warns about not using 6667 for this reason. But having the answer is FAQ also sounds good. Would you write to write that answer?

If you're using a Firefox-based browser, navigate to "about:config" using the address bar, then search for "network.security.ports.banned.override" -- you may have to CREATE this setting; if you do, make it a string. It should be a comma separated list of ports to override and ALLOW the user to use. For just ZNC, make the value "6697,6667".
Something like that?

the browser should tell you how to correct your port in an other software?
well.. why don't you use port 22? or 80? because those are "reserved", or let's call them well known ports.
if you are using or trying to use znc, you should know, that port 6667 and port 6697 are default ports for the ircd to make (or actually receive) user connections.
(and of course, sshd can be also configured to use other than port 22, or actually pache or nginx or whatever - can be configured to use diff port than 80, so of course, znc can use which ever port you configure, but you should know what you are doing.. or at least, that the browser will bug you with port 6667..)

The browser is the problem. It should tell you how to correct the problem in browser. ZNC used one port for two purposes. I agree with this decision. I feel that Waterfox and other Firefox-based browsers are incorrect in blocking the use of port 6697 for https.

@bkidwell can you suggest wording for an answer?

Really pisses me off that the browser doesn't tell you how to CORRECT the situation.
