Only after reissuing it without these unnecessary 'space keys' (the ? sign is right after the last sign) it got really removed.
delmasks user user@user.tld
Hostmasks(s) Removed from user user
listusers
| user | *!*user@user.tld | NOKEY | #chan
i'm using 1.8.x-git-84-2f4b158
After issuing that cmd i had some additional 'space keys' (the ? sign in that paste) and the cmd seemed valid:
> delmasks user user@user.tld
Hostmasks(s) Removed from user user
But it was still listed under the user:
>listusers
| user | *!*user@user.tld | __NOKEY__ | #chan
| `- | user@user.tld | __NOKEY__ | #chan

i pasted it from the output of '/whois user' in Hexchat and i've the option 'copy colorcodes on copy/paste' enabled, but there were no colors inside users hostmask.

Could it be a non breaking space? Finnish keyboard has it in alt+space or similar weird combination that is easy to trigger accidentally and I have in keyboard settings question on how I wish to make one if I want at all.

Perhaps.
