What triggers this is mammon/dereferenced not having limitation from maximum nick length if I understand correctly. This is also issue in case the line limit gets removed in the future.
WeeChat ignores this, but ZNC says:

I was asked to remove the nick and that this is only a guess, but I do believe it's arbitrarily imposed limit as it affects no other clients.

Well, what do you want ZNC to do instead of reconnecting? Server shouldn't
send lines more than 512 bytes in the first place.
Doesn't look like a ZNC bug for me.

I want ZNC to not care about it as this is artificial limit and ZNC is the only client present that had any kinds of issues with longer lines.

Sure, let's allow server send 999999999999999999999999999 bytes in a single
line, and OOM ZNC.
RFC says 512 bytes; ZNC is already too generous by allowing 20 times more.

I don't know how much those other clients allow, but there are no reports of them going OOM.
RFC is ancient and if I understood correctly the limit is going to get removed at some point with IRCv3. https://github.com/ircv3/ircv3-specifications/issues/54#issuecomment-37160793

Yes, RFC is ancient, and yes, the limit hurts as is. But it's the current
RFC right now, and it has the limit 512. When in next version of IRC the
limit is fixed, we can apply the fix to ZNC too.
As for other clients, did you try sending them loooooooooooong lines?

Anyway, this is not a ZNC bug. Please reopen if IRC specs are updated to allow longer lines.
You just didn't send long enough lines to those clients.
Btw, ZNC allows 1k, not 10k: https://github.com/znc/znc/blob/a3ed8147d0c575e7f3d69e5ee3bbe084f1b4d780/src/IRCSock.cpp#L103
10k is for other cases (e.g. HTTP connections from clients).
1024 is still far more than 512.

This seems ZNC specific, but anyway other unaffected clients:

The other clients received the exact same lines as ZNC as everything was sent to channel.
