I've being using znc 1.8.2 with the fish module.
When I send a message in a chat with fish, my own messages are not getting encrypted. Tested on hexchat, I can see them unencrypted on the client, also messages are saved in plain text on znc logs.
In thelounge, messages are actually not displayed, maybe because they are not encrypted.
Couldn't find anything to point me in a direction where I can fix this. I suspect it's something on znc since messages are not encrypted (plain text on log) at the source (znc)

I see that this dates back to 2023. Do you know if there is a complete solution for using znc together with TheLounge so that it can decrypt messages (it currently does this well with znc's native crypt module) from the server? However, what it does not do well is decrypting my own messages. Others see them correctly decrypted, but I only see my own messages encrypted in the style +OK *pnN.
Currently have the latest versions of both znc v10.1 and TL v4.4.3 installed.
If you know of a complete or definitive solution, i would appreciate it if you could share it.

Hello @Oleekae
I gave up, I used fish for two private message chats
Ended up not using it anymore, it's very annoying to setup it with znc and thelounge

Thank you for your experience. Looking at this repo https://github.com/ZarTek-Creole/znc-fish I wonder if I will ever try it to see if it fixes this bug or not. But I can't quite bring myself to do it because don't have high hopes that it will actually solve anything with The Lounge, which i think is really the problem.

@Oleekae actually, it worked for a while when I used a fish decryptor written in python
it's here on github, but i'm not finding it. you have to compile znc with enable python and use it as a python module, but one day my server f* up my znc install and it stopped working

Thanks @alfablac, I had seen it. If I ever decide to try one of these repositories, I will report the results in this same thread. im holding back precisely because everything is working perfectly on the server and don't want to mess anything up with these "experiments".
