Describe the bug
I add \adriandelima.github.io\content\blog\ as the content folder, expecting only blog posts in that folder (and any other content folders I might manually add later) to show up. However, every editable text file in the project's root \adriandelima.github.io\ appears as "content" and clutters the Contents page with e.g. Readme.md and the contents of \adriandelima.github.io\themes\MyThemeName\exampleSite\Content. Shouldn't unselected folders be excluded by default?
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Create a new Hugo site with a theme. Your theme probably includes an \exampleSite\ folder with example articles.
Set a subfolder as your FrontMatter content folder, and make some sample contents. Also create a Readme.
View the Contents page in FrontMatter
You will see not just the articles in your content folder, but your Readme and exampleSite stuff as noise in your Contents page.
Expected behavior
Only the contents of the contents folder should be visible, as that was the only folder selected.
Device:
OS: macOS
Front Matter CMS Version [e.g. 10.2.0]: latest as of Aug 2025
Browser [e.g. chrome, safari]: Firefox LTS

Or is there a way to exclude folders/files? I thought I was hiding some Lorem Ipsum articles, but accidentally deleted the contents of my theme's exampleSite...

I checked your configuration, and you configured your blog folder correctly. In case you want to exclude for instance the _index.md files, you can use the excludePaths property as follows:
{"frontMatter.content.pageFolders":[{"title":"blog","path":"[[workspace]]/content/blog","previewPath":"/blog/{{slug}}",//"previewPath": "blog", // Prefixes all files with "/blog/" for the page preview
"trailingSlash":true,"excludePaths":["**/_index.md"]}]}
Hi @AdriandeLima,
I checked your configuration, and you configured your `blog` folder correctly. In case you want to exclude for instance the `_index.md` files, you can use the `excludePaths` property as follows:
```json
{
"frontMatter.content.pageFolders": [
{
"title": "blog",
"path": "[[workspace]]/content/blog",
"previewPath": "/blog/{{slug}}",
//"previewPath": "blog", // Prefixes all files with "/blog/" for the page preview
"trailingSlash": true,
"excludePaths": ["**/_index.md"]
}
]
}
```
