I know.. it's not supported.. only the SPI version (which I do not have)
I can file multiple issues, but:
Feature Suggestion: I would suggest adding some check for SPI vs UART boards. I spent a number of hrs trying to get it work with Meshtastic, and realized that I had the UART version (dumb newbie). I then tried pcMC_Repeater, which got the install and web ui up and running in under 5 min, which is FANTASTIC. However, unlike meshtasticd, this option seemed to indicated that everything was AOK, and even "Successfully Sent" the advertisement!. Except, it really didn't, despite even printing out something about message length. logs DO say "ERROR Radio not initialized", which is really the only clue that something is horribly, horrible wrong..
Feature Request: Is there any hope of supporting UART? Which has two parts.
Is it a hard, underlying technical issue that prevents both meshtastic and meshcore from supporting it? Or, is it just my bad luck, and there's some other software that does that I just haven't tried yet?
I am somewhat capable of contributing. I am also motivated, stubborn and cheap enough that short of adding linux kernel level support for some some device driver, I would be willing to poke a bit at it, if anyone could point me in the right direction.

I believe the UART version is only used for LoraWan and is baked in with noway of sending raw packets. unless you can find a way to bridge the sx1262 to spi im not sure on this one.
