do the colors of the locations squares on the map have a meaning within MCTerm?

most of them are grey but 4 have a color, blue, lavender, black

at first I thought this was to distinguish rooms/servers/repeaters etc but that does not seem the case

Based on the code, the colors of the location squares on the map represent the hop count (network distance) from your device to each contact. Here's what each color means:

Gray (140,140,140): Unknown hop count (no route information available)
Green (34,197,94): 0 hops (direct connection - the device itself or immediate neighbor)
Blue (0,0,255): 1 hop away
Purple (51,0,204): 2 hops away
Magenta (102,0,153): 3 hops away
Pink/Magenta (153,0,102): 4 hops away
Red-Purple (204,0,51): 5 hops away
Red (255,0,0): 6+ hops away

I still have on the map one repeater coloured in Purple, Magenta or Pink/Magenta (I cannot say which colour it is exactly), but I have a 0-hop login to it and in the "Contacts" screen when I tap on ot to see the details it says Route: Direct.

And now after a reboot due to empty battery I see all nodes in green-ish …:

And, is "black" be meant as "flood"?

Note for fellow readers:

Has now be changed to represent node type (Repeater, Client, Room server, Sensor).
