I can't reproduce this issue on my T-Deck running 0.9.5. You could try a couple of things:
Reboot the device (again?)
Toggle the settings to NOT blink, reboot, then turn the settings on again
Re-flash the 0.9.5 firmware
I also cannot reproduce this issue on a unreleased 0.9.6 version, so hopefully that resolves the issue for you, too, once released!

it works for me, did you check the Mgmt / UI -> Light Settings? There you need to activate this setting.
Keyboard Blink = enabled - if you want the keyboard blinking
Display Blink = enabled - if you want the Display blinking
you can control which of them or both of then you want to have to blink!

nope, tried all your suggestions, just a blink when rebooting.
Don't really miss that feature, I just noticed it when I was figuring out if I could turn on the backlight for messaging in the dark, (alt+b also doesn't turn it on)
@dabaeni , yes turned them on, even upped the blink durations

One last thing I can imagine could be the issue is if the timing is too short. I think 60ms is the shortest, so you might want to check a longer (or longest) setting.

have them at 500ms but no blinks... but if not reproducable prolly a isolated quirk, will check it again once I can download 0.96

ah! partially solved! display blink is now working! I had the screen brightness at 100% so the blink could not be seen.. with screen brightness at < 100% I get a blink!
