Describe the bug

Setting other map tile source, having not present them on device, having enabled network tiles, but no WiFi connection, freezes the UI a long time when opening the map view.

Corresponding USB serial log then shows a lot of:

[...]
[ 59949][E][sd_diskio.cpp:624] ff_sd_status(): Check status failed

[ 65979][E][sd_diskio.cpp:624] ff_sd_status(): Check status failed

[ 76152][E][sd_diskio.cpp:624] ff_sd_status(): Check status failed

[...]

Display and keyboard timeout still work, and after several tens of seconds I can switch again to another screen.

LilyGO T-Deck Plus

Which Firmware are you using

v0.9.14

To Reproduce

  1. Have on the SD card map tiles unter /tiles/
  2. In Mgmt → Map, set tile source to Topo.
  3. Have Network tiles enabled, but no WiFi enabled.
  4. See error.
