I just connected the official companion app software with my T-Deck running "MC Term", and I observed that the app could set a fixed position to the device without GPS beeing on, and on the map on the device it was shown that the "actual" location is that fixed permission.
It stayed this way even when I disconnected the app.
When I switchen on GPS, the real GPS location became the location shown on the map, when I switched off GPS no location anymore was shown on the map.
So it seems there actually is functionality to manually set a location.
I hereby feature-wish that this can be set from within MC Term as well:
Location shown on the map,
location used for adverts (can be different than location shown of the map, if that is supported);
do not have any location set.
In the "GPS" menu by manually entering coordinates and height, and optionally also be able to select it from the map.
Regards!
Ahoj,

Matches official companion app behavior for manual location configuration
improved in v0.9.12;
- **Manual location setting now available in MCTerm via GPS menu**
- WebUI displays 3-state mode selector: Off (no location), GPS (real-time), Manual (fixed coordinates)
- Set manual location via text input fields for latitude, longitude, altitude
- Set location from map view using "Use Map Center" button
- Clear location via "Clear Loc" button
- Uses existing firmware protocol (CMD_SET_ADVERT_LATLON) — no companion app protocol changes
- Matches official companion app behavior for manual location configuration

Only in the web menu, not on-device?
