Describe the bug

Opening a message with ⪆50 characters, long-tapping on it (copy to clipboard), then writing a message and long-tapping in the message field (pasting clipboard) pastes less characters.

Which device are you using

LilyGO T-Deck Plus

Which Firmware are you using

v0.9.11

To Reproduce

  1. Write the message "abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz0123456789ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ_-+:;'"!,.?*#" (75 characters) and send it.
  2. Open the sent message.
  3. Long tap on it (wait for popup "Selection copied" to occur).
  4. Close the message again.
  5. Write a new message.
  6. Long tap on the text input field (wait for popup "Pasted" to occur).
  7. Observe that only 44 characters are pasted: "56789ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ_-+:;'"!,.?*#".

If I mount the SD card, the file clipboard.txt also does contain only those 44 characters.

(In another occasion, when I had input 125 character (maximum length allowed together with my username), when I did copy and paste, 50 characters were pasted.)

fixed in v0.9.12

  • GUI: long-tap copy in message detail could paste only a truncated wrapped fragment
    • Long-tap copy without drag-selection now copies the full message body instead of a single wrapped line fragment
    • Detail line-hit indexing now matches render indexing when sender prefix wraps to its own line, preventing off-by-one selection/copy mismatches
    • Clipboard persistence now receives the intended full copied message text for subsequent paste operations
