If you want to send a message, you need to tap the "Send" button to write a message and then hit the "Enter" key to send.
It would be great to be able to have a text field at the bottom that always has focus for typing with the keyboard. You can have a "send" button (arrow icon?) or keep the setting to send with the "Enter" key.

Yes, with the physical keyboard (so basically skipping the popup screen that appears when you click the Send button)
