Ahoj,

I am referring to firmware version 0.9.10 on T-Deck.

I hereby feature-wish that in the contacts screen, contacts can be searched for (partial string matching in name or in ID, hex prefix matching).

sounds very useful, but - where/how to implement?
Actually i do not have a really good idea in which area/button/entry we could implement such a function. At all, sure it will work, but i dont see any space right now on this small display.

How about implementing this as one of the "views" when cycling through the different ways to sort the contacts list? In addition to sorting A-Z, or showing favs at the top, one view could show a search bar at the top.

I like the idea of different views -- and would add "last heard" and
also filtering by type.

Since search for ID can give a lot of results, I would make search
independent of the view. -- Or, if the contacts list is quite limited
anyway, then your suggestion, @SamBouwer, I think would also be good
enough since a filtered list on some tens of contacts would not be too
much.

Implemented in v0.9.14

you can search contacts by name or by public key (8+ hex digits), on the device and in the WebUI. A Clear button resets the search.
