Sometimes I need to stop syncing a big repo by accident. Also for org once sync started I cannot change mirror options, so there needs a way to both do that and stop syncing.

Thanks. Part of this already existed and part was broken, so here is where things stand after v3.36.2.

Stopping a repository or organization from syncing. Ignore Repository (repository row menu) and Ignore Organization (organization card menu) are the way to do this. Ignore Organization was not doing its job though: it only changed the organization row, so its mirrored repositories kept syncing and rediscovery kept importing new ones. Fixed in #433: ignoring an organization now ignores its repositories too (anything mid-sync finishes its current run first), rediscovery skips ignored organizations, and Include restores the repositories, mirrored ones as mirrored and the rest as imported.

Stopping a sync that is already running. There is no cancel for in-flight work today. Ignoring a repository is refused while it is mirroring or syncing; you have to wait for the run to finish, then ignore it. A cancel button is a fair ask and I am keeping this issue open for it.

Changing mirror options on an organization once sync started. I could not find anything on the organization card that locks by status: the destination editor, the source pin and the mirror overrides dialog all stay editable after mirroring. Which option were you unable to change, and what did the UI say? A screenshot would help.

When I first imported an organization and click start syncing, then the 3 dot button is gone. I don't have a way to manually re-trigger sync now since they all say Successfully mirrored:

Thanks for the screenshot, that made it clear. The Mirror button only covers the first run, and once an organization is mirrored the menu had nothing to run it again.

Added in #444, released in v3.37.0: the organization menu now has Sync Organization for mirrored and failed organizations. It re-lists the organization's repositories from the source, mirrors the ones that were only imported, syncs the mirrored, synced and failed ones, and leaves anything another run is already working on alone. The card shows Mirroring while it runs and settles on Mirrored or Failed.

Together with the ignore fix from v3.36.2 that covers everything in this issue except cancelling a sync that is already running, which still does not exist. I am closing this one and would take a fresh issue for the cancel button so it does not get lost.
