The app is significantly slow when switching to a channel that has a lot of messages. Do we have to manually clear out the db every so often?

First, thank you for using Contact long enough to encounter this issue! I tend to wipe my db frequency for dev work. There is currently no way to clear the messages within the app. You can erase your db manually by deleting the client.db file which can found in app settings -> db path. This will clear all client information and only load what is stored on the node.
This does give me an idea however to dynamically load message history as the user scrolls back...

Just comes here with the same issue, client becomes painfully slow with big channels.
Will wait for some solution and remove db for a while.

Yeah, swapped in the old db file and it loaded up quicker. It only goes back so many days, though, and doesn't seem to load any more (maybe that's intended). I wasn't able to cat the old db and new db together.

That's what I was thinking, but didn't know how possible it is.

@norrinr @mesb1 I'd love to hear if this is fixed in the latest release. Thanks!
Tried with old big db backup before deletion.
So far so good.
