Request: Use selected chat for traceroutes, etc, when focus is on that list #51

The control keyboard commands can be used when the user not in the node list, either in the main chat section or the left chat list. (I'm new to the project and don't know the official names for the UI areas). I know to go to the right hand node list to highlight a node in order to use the control commands to take action on it. I was curious if selecting a node's DM in the left column would do the same. It did not. The traceroute was sent to the last node I'd selected on the right. There was no indication that the right-hand node was still "selected", though when I hit Control+T and sent the trace, it showed up on the left with the result.

I'd either let the left DM selection also be used for trace targeting, or make the commands only work when the area they work with is selected.

I hope this suggestion is helpful. I love love love contact. Thank you so much!

Great points! It's even more confusing that the commands are replaced by node stats when you are selecting nodes in the node list. I'll have to think on this a bit. I'd like to make that command list more dynamic somehow and possibly just move all the commands to a help menu or alternatively move the node stats to a new command, like ^i for info.

FYI, we've been calling the windows: channels, messages, and nodes

I swear I commented on this already but I totally agree, I'd like to use a popup info window for node info/commands similar to the mobile apps, eliminating the need for all the different keyboard shortcuts. There IS the issue with the UI populating over top of popup windows (#27 ) that would be an annoyance for this solution and nice to fix alongside.
