Does it make sense to include number of start and start date in the various tables? I was thinking it could be better using this space for something along the lines of platforms supported e.g. Windows / Linux / MacOS / Web or possibly even using icons to represent them?
This would impact sections:
Free and Open Source apps
Proprietary apps
Free and Open Source firmware
"Free and Open Source firmware" potentially not needing further columns as it's mostly shared in description and name what hardware they are for/

I quite like the stars, but they are out of date already. I think there used to be a way to embed the star number direct from the repo in a bit of markdown. I might have a look if that's still possible somehow. The start date I thought was relevant context for the star number, a 2yo project is likely to get more stars than a 2week old one.. I guess ideally you'd get a 'new stars in last three month metric. But that starts to sound overcomplicated for whats essentially a list..
Agree supported platforms might be good..

I just made PR #20 that fixes the dates and stars.

Nice, thanks! I removed the '20' from 2025 to save a bit of space. Also stuck meshcore open at the top of the list, I know it has less stars, but I like it and want to give it visibility

Closing for now, since stars are recently updated, will have to re-do every few months until we find a way to automate

any objections if I move the stars back to their own column, I think where they are now, detracts from the project names.
I can also do the other table with stars, where possible?

Ah someone suggested eg https://img.shields.io/github/stars/samuk/awesome-meshcore?style=social
Let's use those..
OK I did the first table. Second one still needs doing

...would also be good to alphabetize the tables to help with manual searching of names
