When you say "standard emoji choice", are you meaning an emoji menu/chooser? I'm curious, what platform are you in that doesn't have a native one?

i ran linux native build on lxc container and dont have any emoji menu on any browser.
So, topic is to add ability to choose emoji from desktop browsers!
PS. Yep, from mobile i have keyboard with emoji chooser.

I'll give you half yes, half no 😜 Raw packet filter sounds good; I'll implement that.
For the emoji picker, unfortunately, since mobile + windows desktop + mac desktop offer build-in emoji pickers, and Linux has options for that, I don't think that's a UX that's a good fit for remoteterm -- it's emulating a feature that is either in or trivial to add to all operating systems, and introduces a fiddly/layered UX burden where a lot of things can go wrong.
So, definitely on emoji filtering (will do tonight), and a sorry-but-not-right-now for an emoji picker. Apologies!
I'm going to close this issue and track the feed filtering in #169.
