In Piwigo 2.9.4 with PHP 7.2, you get this "deprecated" message:
Deprecated: __autoload() is deprecated, use spl_autoload_register() instead in include\phpmailer\PHPMailerAutoload.php on line 45
the official answer from PHPMailer devs is on https://github.com/PHPMailer/PHPMailer/issues/981 : don't worry and update to PHPMailer 6.x. Unfortunately, PHPMailer 6 requires PHP 5.5. We can't upgrade this soon to such a PHP version.
We may have to have a specific change in Piwibo embedded PHPMailer 5.2.

An immediate solution could be to hide "deprecated" message:
$conf['show_php_errors'] = E_ALL & ~E_DEPRECATED;
