I would really like the ability to have "name" as album url. (Without the ID).
For example:
/john-smith
not
/41-john_smith
Currently I am having to go through every single album and create permalinks... it's a lot of work.. and it takes a long time for the permalinks page to load the list of permalinks to edit (there are hundreds).
The relevent conf section is: // category_url_style : one of 'id' (default) or 'id-name'. 'id-name' // means that an simplified ascii represntation of the category name will // appear in the url $conf['category_url_style'] = 'id-name';
It can be done for tags and pictures, but not albums.
Appreciated.

-They probably have added "id-name" for category because big chances of name collisions.
-Name collision for picture is harder because link for picture also contain category. But i never tried to upload two pictures with the same filename in the same album.
-For tags i don't think name collision is possible. Because you cannot put the same name tag to a different tag id (?).
Solution 1:
Having an option 'pathname' will decrease the chances for name collisions for category. For example to generate links like this: http://site.com/index.php?/category/album1/subalbum1/subsubalbum1
So even if you have "subsubalbum1" multiple times, you will probably have it in different parent albums.
Solution 2:
Having something like an auto-permalink future will be nice. Take the permalink name from album title for virtual albums or from the album directory name or album title for the physical albums. Replace spaces and special chars with "-" or "_". Build also a pathname (see previous solution).

I've tested it and it works great. Any errors I received are my own fault (I used @ and . in album names).
Thank you VERY much @plegall
I feel like crying. This is the perfect solution. Legitimately hundreds of hours will be saved by doing this automatically. Thank you!!
Please mark as solved!

Does anyone know if this is remotely possible? I could start working on it I guess.
