First of all, thank you very much for this powerful application (and plugins), I just chose it to migrate my old Menalto Gallery3 albums.
The choice was made based on the features that you offer, which are higher than other photo albums.
One missing feature is the rights for non-admin.
I mean to manager their albums (adding, removing, ordering ... etc) or their inscription for notifications ...
With the "community" plugin, I managed to give them the right on their albums but only for adding, they cannot order the photos or change the album's properties.
Is there any extension/plugin that can add these features or anything in the roadmap to include it in the main project?
Thank you again

I'm a big fan of piwigo and I use it extensively.
As far as I know, this features are not available in any plugin.
There is also the User Collections plugin but it does not work as you want.
I totally subscribe your request.
Thant you,

++for this feature. I'd like to be able to give my users full editing capabilities for their own albums.
Unfortunately the last time I raised this it was not really on the roadmap for Piwigo; it's just a totally different mindset from the Menalto galleries.

Same for me. I converted a Gallery3 to Piwigo and I'm quite happy with it (although I had to make a few code changes). But having no means to grant edit permissions, so that users can edit their own albums might be a show stopper for us :-(

Yes, this is a HUGE issue for me too. What's the point of having registered users if they can't be given any edit rights??

The user registration has been created for the album permission management system. Only the community plugin allows users to add their own photo without accessing to the admin panel

OK, that's technically true, but that doesn't really address the main issue. User uploads and album management are basic features of gallery tools like this. The Community plugin shouldn't even be necessary, this needs to be in core product.

" User uploads and album management are basic features of gallery tools like this" no... the vast majority of web galleries (not even just Piwigo) are mono users then you have the ones with several administrators, and finally you have the galleries where admins trust enough their users to allow them to upload.
to give you some facts, the highest peak of downloads for the community plugin is around 9k . One the most popular plugin has 30k downloads. So at the very very best you have 1/3 of Piwigo galleries enabling uploads by users. You can at least divide by 3 to take into account the real number of Piwigo galleries existing which is far bigger and the real number of galleries actually using the plugin Community which is far less.

Your use of the plugin download counts to indicate feature importance doesn't really hold up IMO. How many users stopped using Piwigo after installing it and realizing it didn't offer user uploading natively? How many never explore the add-ons? How many didn't even download Piwigo to begin with because that feature was missing?
I am not saying 100% of users need this. But by your count (which again isn't exactly scientific), 10 to 30% of users is still a pretty significant number of people who would make good use of this feature. I certainly wouldn't call it a niche request.

The user upload plugin falls FAR short of what true multi-user upload support should be. It's a stop-gap bandaid offering the barest basics which are not even close to being suitable for true multiuser support. I do NOT want to give my users admin rights outside their own albums, but within those albums they should be able to do quite a lot.
So hardly surprising that it doesn't get more usage from people who really want this feature.
But sure, it's your product, you get to decide what features you want to develop and support.
As for me, I've gone back to using Gallery2. It's old, it lacks a lot of modern design features, but as least it has the core features (multiuser album support) that I do need and use.
It's just sad that there's no modern replacement; I had high hopes for Piwigo as in a lot of other respects it really is a fantastic product.
So much this.

Same for me. I had really high hopes for using Piwigo as a replacement for our old Gallery3, but without user edit rights it's a no-go. So, we reverted back to our old Gallery3 installation.
The Community plugin is far too basic. Minimum requirement should be, that users are able to order their uploaded pictures and add a description.
@mwerle 100%.

+1 I'm another Gallery user that was looking for this functionality and assuming that I was just not seeing it. My use case doesn't make this critical but it would be really, really nice to have.

Ability for every family member to have private sections (not shared with anyone, not even family)
Ability to share with family
Ability to share with friends and/or by custom share link (comparable to Nextcloud file sharing)
Ability for every family member to manage their own albums, upload and manage photos
The community plugin seems to make this somewhat viable but I am not sure how that will translate to usage with the mobile application yet and it feels like this should be native functionality.
Does anyone know of something that is more catered to family / small, private user base usage?

+1 for this
community plugin offers the base of what I need for multi users, now I need the users to have more control on their own albums.
They can't even create sub-albums in their own private album unless I (site admin) manually add them to permissions... it's a bit of a pain (https://github.com/plegall/Piwigo-community/issues/20)

I second this suggestion!
This needs to be prioritized.
Piwigo seems otherwise to work perfectly!
