I noticed, that always English (UK)is used for non-logged-in users, even when German was selected during the installation (it is marked as Defaultin the Admin>Language panel, and when German is the Browser language.
(Ugly) workaround: I deactivated all English languages. Then German (Default) is indeed the default language on the main screen.

Probably because English was the language of the guest user

@flop25 If this is the "guest" user language, then this is clear a bug in the installer.
When I set up Piwigo with "German", it is a bug if the guest user gets "English (UK)" as default language.

it's as if Piwigo automatically uses the browser language, without caring about the user language.
but generic users are made for multiple users so it sounds normal for me to give priority to the browser lang
even if $conf['browser_language'] = false ?
actually a user told me the behavior changed between 2.7 and 2.8, I will investigate
that was not specified ;)
