It appears that whenever one uses the "notification by mail" feature from the administrator panel, the sent email always uses the webmaster's address as its sender.
I'm not sure if this is was configured like this by design or not, but in my use case, the webmaster contact address is not one from the domain Piwigo is installed on and thus such emails would always fail all authenticity checks by other mail servers, so I would definitely appreciate if it could still be configured. And if it is indeed a bug, the change seems to be trivial: just take $conf['mail_sender_email'] or an equivalent new setting into account at admin/include/functions_notification_by_mail.inc.php#L201.

you can also activate plugin Protect Notification to avoid using the webmaster email address.
I agree that it could be nice to have a specific setting to set the sender distinct from the webmaster email address.

I just ran into this issue as well (took me a while to figure out why my notifications always ended up in the spam folders everywhere :D). In my case, I could simply set a suitable address for the webmaster account but I think in general, it would be nice if these notification mails would also use $conf['mail_sender_email'] (that's the behaviour I expected).

Hey, new comer to Piwigo and same feeling about this.
$conf['mail_sender_email'] is the value I expected for notification, not the webmaster mail

Thank you for bringing that plugin into my attention, it'll do enough to fit my needs for now.
