When you have the original_resize configuration setting active (see page [Administration > Configuration > Options > tab Photo sizes > section Original size > parameter Resize after upload], then you get this error:

[Image] unsupported file extension

... when you upload a TIFF file.

Indeed, the need_resize function returns true while the Image class says it can't process a TIFF file because it's not a picture_ext.
