Height of gallery thumbs differing resulting in empty spaces

Since one of the last Piwigo updates I encounter some strange behavoir in the gallery overview:

The thumbs-images are displayed with different values for height so that there are no complete rows of images. Instead there are empty spaces, very irritating.

In the example described here there are 49 images

  • Image 1 - 20: height=88
  • Image 21 - 30: height=85
  • Image 31 - 42: height=82
  • Image 43 - 49: height=82

The height varies between 88 and 82 px. The height value in the li element and the img element are not always the same, they differ for some images by +/- 1 or +/- 2.
As this situation has not been seen in the past, it is probably caused by one of the latest updates.
There is no pattern seen in the data, indicating any reason for the differences in height

It could be, that the effect is generates by JavaScript, because if changing the width of the window the effect changes, at some width vanishing, at other widths even worse.

The installation has the following characteristics:
