I run Piwigo 13.0.0 beta 2, upgraded from 11 to 12 to 13. Visiting /admin.php?page=updates&tab=ext won't let me come through - alongside with a bunch of deprecation warnings, I get one fatal error:
Fatal error: Type of SmartyCompilerException::$line must be int (as in class Exception) in /(REDACTED)/include/smarty/libs/sysplugins/smartycompilerexception.php on line 8
I could imagine that this is just another PHP 8.1 problem...?
Environment:

Hi
Piwigo is not compatible php 8.1 but or maybe smarty version 3. Try install version 4 or master instead of version 3
https://github.com/smarty-php/smarty
In piwigo

I'd rather not play with the packaged dependencies - but I thought that the Piwigo project could be interested in keeping track of compatibility issues. :-)

It works updating smarty to the last version in github.
updates_ext.tpl needs and update too because an unclosed {if].

@DickeyFuller @dertuxmalwieder still a problem with current master or build 13.0.0RC4 ?
13.0.0RC4 looks good on PHP 8.1.11.
