On some specific installations, see https://piwigo.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=30920 and https://piwigo.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=30933 the new "pure PHP" algorithm to calculate cache directory size, introduced by #1290 simply times out.

The fix is not good enough, need a better solution.
