I have set up an iGate using a LilyGO T3 v1.6.1 board. Since I want it to be portable, I installed a NEO-6M GPS module. I flash the Lora32 V2.1/1.6.1 + GPS (DIY) v3.2.3 firmware version.
However, the screen displays 'Satellites=0', no matter how long I leave it outdoors.
As a test, I uploaded a custom code via Arduino IDE, and the Serial Monitor correctly shows GPS data, which means the wiring and connections are working fine.
Yet, with the iGate software, I don't get any GPS readings.
What could be the problem?

One if one firmware works and the other doesn't there is no problem
Is that they are different (different way of doing things and usually also different pins selected)
So let's start with the pins: did you check which pins are used on the igate firmware?

if date and time is updated (it should be less than 30 secs) then its connected as expected
if this works you will have to wait to get the fix (which takes more time - but only the first time))
use those 12 and 34 pins...

The led in the gps module blinks that means it get fixed, but in the screen of lilygo displays satelites=0.
It is in exterior sky at least 1hour.

did the time and date update or not (this is the first indicator that the gps works)
test with both ways (Of the RX and Tx connections)

How do I know that the time and date has been updated?
The time is updated via the internet from the pool.ntp.org.

How do I know that the time and date has been updated? The time is updated via the internet from the pool.ntp.org.
you are using the GPS information ... time and date should be received from Gps (but i got confused from Tracker screen which shows the time and date all the time)
i should add a way to double check the GPS data it receives and validates that the board does receive the gps.
do you have the "send beacon with GPS data" switch enabled?
if the leds blinks it should eventually show on the screen the number of satellites it receives.

do you have the "send beacon with GPS data" switch enabled? YES.
I will flash now with the tracker firmware (not igate) to check if it works.
Wait some minutes for the results

With the tracker version firmware it works with the initial pin connection (GPS TX pin with Lilygo 34 pin and GPS RX pin with Lilygo 12 pin).
Maybe something wrong happens with the igate firmware version.

is the same code that works for all boards with GPS. So now you have validations on the wiring for GPS.
now put the igate firmware and don't add any locations info (latitude and longitude) and just enable the "send beacon with gps data" and wait

it doesn't work. I flash with the igate firmware, i leave location empty (appears 0) and check the "send real-gps beacon".

Ι connect GPS TX pin with Lilygo 34 pin and GPS RX pin with Lilygo 12 pin.
Is the above connection correct?

test it changing the cables (RX and TX) between them .... it seems this should be the only missing part of it
i tested but nothing happens
