I've installed a small weather station with a BME280 on my LilyGo, but its functionality is rather limited.
Either it displays completely nonsensical data, such as a temperature of 190 °C, and air pressure and humidity aren't shown at all, or the data disappears completely and is no longer visible.
Does anyone have any advice, or can anyone help me?
Many thanks and 73/55 from northern Germany.

Hallo, liebe Funkfreunde :-)

I run many lilygo modules with BME280 without any issues, so I suspect it is a hardware problem with your setup. How long is the cable between the sensor and the lilygo module? Can you confirm that the power and ground connection to the sensor is OK and the voltage is correct?
I had a similar problem once when I forgot to connect power. The sensor somehow got some voltage through I2C lines, enough to power it up but the readings were crazy. Connecting the power wire fixed it. :)

check that its a 3.3V module board and not a 5V module board. Then that the I2C connection is not a long cable...

Well, I think I did everything right at first, and when it didn't work,
I really racked my brains :-(
The cable between the LilyGo and the BME280 is maybe 30cm at most, or
even shorter. I have to go through the window frame to get the readings
from outside.
For now, I've taken it apart again, but when I reinstall it, I'll make
sure it's definitely 3.3V!!! Ricardo already pointed that out to me :-)
I'll take care of it sometime next week, and then I'll post everything
here in the group.

Thanks again, dear OM :-)
I used a standard 4-core ribbon cable. I don't think that was a mistake.
As I said, I'll look into it sometime next week and see what happens :-)

Hello.
I have repeatedly used up to 10m (!) long UTP (SCL and SDA twisted with GND - grounded only at the board end) with Lilygo T3 V1.6.1. The 5V version of BME280 also works at 3.3V. It is worse with Heltec boards.

So if it works with a 10m cable, then I have hope! :-D
I'm certainly not stupid, but I have to say, these systems are, for
whatever reason, sometimes quite complicated. You have to pay attention
to things during setup that you wouldn't normally think of. :-)
But okay... that's a challenge, and you learn from it!
