Error opening serial port - YAAC #202

I have a consistent yet intermittent error when attempting to use YAAC to connect via serial USB port to a LilyGO V1.6.1 board running CA2RXU firmware. I have had this issue for months now, so it's not related to the new V3.0 build.

Image

The computer is Windows 11, it shows the LilyGO device as a valid serial port COM4.

But, as can be seen in YAAC it's unable to open the port. I am monitoring the board as it's connected to my home AP, and there I see packets being received - all appears fine.

I have the LilyGO v1.6.1 board configured as follows

which I think is the correct thing for a serial USB connection.

Any ideas?

Hi, check the answer I got on a similar topic: https://github.com/richonguzman/LoRa_APRS_iGate/issues/259#issuecomment-3028062048

Basically, serial TNC has always been broken. See if you can use TNC over local network or fix the serial code...

Thanks for the feedback! My situation is in a moving vehicle, no internet or local network. I suppose I could create one, but that's another thing to have fail. I went over to ploeffler's and looked over the code there. It sounds like turning off serial debug is not likely to happen. I'd really like to connect back-to-back two units both as TNCs but on different bands, and do what bruninga had done sooooo long ago with stacking multiple TNCs and using diodes to daisy chain the serial ports together.
