I do understand if I check "Eco Mode" then Digipeater (digi mode only) goes to a very low power state. But I wonder how to do it without using queries, if it's possible. Is there some way how to use some USB/serial terminal?
How do You send queries in LoRa APRS? Is it some possibility how configure for exapmle app Aprsdroid fo messaging? I never get ack or answer. Using Pinpoint ( via wifi or serial) goes to freeze module. Thanks for any idea!

EcoMode puts the board into a few stages described like this:
super low CPU speed (which kills serial communication)
also breaks wifi connection but helps low consumption.

to send a query to the Digipeater (in EcoMode) just send a message to this station. The message should be the "query" you want it to process. (like "?APRSEEM" (Exit EcoMode) "?APRSSEM" (Start EcoMode) "?APRSEMS" (EcoMode Status)).

you want a low power Digi that still can be accessible over USB to use it like TNC/with Serial Terminal?

Thanks for reply. Please excuse me, if my question is too stupid. You described this option in manul clearly, for me is only new infomation, that the serial interface is in this state power off too. So my problem is, how to send message for digi over the air. I don't have any interface with keyboard to write message. Need to try to install very old UIView and use other module as LoRa TNC?Zasláno z Outlooku pro AndroidOd: Ricardo Guzman (Richonguzman) @.>Odesláno: neděle, ledna 12, 2025 10:51:20 odp.Komu: richonguzman/LoRa_APRS_iGate @.>Kopie: Jan-OK2 @.>; Author @.>Předmět: Re: [richonguzman/LoRa_APRS_iGate] Eco Mode - How to? with another board used as Tracker or as TNC connected to a phone (like APRSDroid in Android /APRS.fi app in iOS) you can send from phone (over BT/BLE) into the board as Tracker/TNC and it will transmit over LoRa into the remote Digipeater to access it with the message/query and also control his behavior

Many thanks, now it works! Setting as TNC2 in APRSDroid works better than KISS. I have some next questions (maybe should be in tracker project section):
1/ I use board Lilygo LoRa32 V2.1_1.6 and for this board is i APRS Tracker two versions of FW: TNC and GPS, what is the difference between them?
2/ I flashed FW TNC and configuration via Wifi is possible only at first boot. After reboot, is starts as TNC, and wifi is no more accessible. Later, when I want something to change I need to flash FW again via Web or use VCS with new settins. Or not?
3/ Is possible use this board as full tracker? I think GPS module works on pins RX/TX, but this board have no button to control like e.g. T-Beam.

  1. you use real gps module for autonomous stations, and the TNC uses only phone connection.
  2. some boards need to add button to access again WiFiAP for new config.
  3. can be full tracker, but needs button or keyboard for menu control
